Thank you to those residents living in Bois Moor Road and Hodds Wood Road who responded to our recent play area survey.

Following the success of the WCA-led refurbishment of the Gordon Road play area last year, the Association have looked at other play areas in Waterside, those in Bois Moor Road (on the way to Chesham Bois) and also Hodds Wood Road. Both of these play areas are managed by Chesham Town Council and were earmarked for closure.

The survey results clearly showed that residents want to keep and improve the play area in Bois Moor Road. There was less support for the smaller play area in Hodds Wood Road.

Waterside Community Association has reached agreement with Chesham Town Council to keep the Bois Moor Road play area open, whilst they fundraise to replace the current equipment and even increase the size of the play area.  The Hodds Wood play area will be closed.

If you would like to be involved in the fundraising to improve the play area at Bois Moor Road, or have any ideas, please contact the WCA Chairman, Shane Willmoth – shane@wcassoc.co.uk

Veolia Water will be closing sections of road along Waterside  starting from Red Lion Street.

All residents should have received a notice from the WCA to advise of road closures and access into Waterside, which will be from the Latimer Road end initially.  As the work progresses access to Waterside for residents will be from either end, up to the works area.

NSL have been instructed not to enforce the partking restrictions along Waterside for the duration of the works, and Veolia will be making allowance for parking outside of their working areas.

The diversion route for the closure is in two parts:

  • Town bound: Moor Road – Amersham Road
  • Out bound: Buses only: Amersham Road – Moor Road

All other traffic: Amersham Road – North Road Chesham Bois – Bois Lane – Bois Moor Road – Moor Road.

The intention to suspend the one way system on Moor Road was discarded as feedback had been received regarding the tight bend by the workshop and parking on Moor Road, and so the diversion route as above is in state – this is the route normally used for closures in Waterside.
